After graduating she moved to Winnipeg, where she met and married Reg Stockwell. They raised two children in the Elmwood area where they were very active in the local community club. While raising their family, they also provided emergency foster care for over 60 children over the years. Mom was very giving of her time to various charitable organizations. After retirement, Mom and Dad spent 20 plus years delivering Meals on Wheels. They both enjoyed numerous hours at the St. James Lawn Bowling Club. Mom always kept up on current events and would often call family members to inform them of things she had heard or read about. These conversations usually ended with her saying things sure are different than they used to be. She often commented on the vast changes and progress that she had seen during her lifetime. She enjoyed outings and visits with her numerous friends. Mom was an avid reader, and enjoyed watching soccer and curling. In compliance with Mom’s wishes; a private family service has been held. Flowers gratefully declined. If you wish, donations in Erva’s memory may be made to a charity of your choice.   As published in the Winnipeg Free Press on February 06, 2012
