ERNEST MAURICE HUTCHINSON

Peacefully after a short illness Ernie Hutchinson ( Hutch ) passed away at the Grace Hospital on March 7, 2026 at the age of 101. Born in Swallowcliffe England he was predeceased by his wife Isobel and son-in-law Gill Fraser. He is survived by his daughters Jennifer Fraser ( Jack Boroditsky ), Sandra Rossnagel ( Ron ), grandsons Graeme, Ian ( Sandra) Scott (Meredith) Paul (Chandra) and great grandchildren Delia, Katelyn, Logan, Owen and Connor.

He was very proud to have served in the British Royal Navy during World War II. Serving on the battleship Indomitable in the Pacific, he was part of the liberation of Hong Kong. After the war he headed to Helensburgh, Scotland where he married Isobel and then off to Canada for a new life. He worked at Federal Pioneer Electric for over 35 years. In his retirement he had a love of gardening and traveling. He managed to garden till his 101st year. Thank you to his friends and neighbours for their love and care of Hutch.

A private graveside funeral will take place later. We request no flowers and a donation can be made to the Grace Hospital or a charity of your choice.
