ELIZABETH MILLER

April 24, 2012

ELIZABETH (BETTY) MAY MILLER It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Elizabeth May Miller on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at the age of 70 years. Left to forever cherish Betty’s memory are her two loving children, Sean (Yvette) and Kristy (Jason) of Winnipeg; grandchildren Emma and Hunter, Quinn, Keira, Darian, Brady and Gaby, and her sister, Margretta Isabel of Winnipeg. She was predeceased by her two brothers Robert Samuel and William James. Born April 12, 1942, Betty was the daughter of Irish immigrants, Isabell and William James Leetch. She lived a long and full life finding great joy in spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was also an avid lover of classic movies and laid claim to an encyclopedic knowledge of plotlines and starring roles. Some of Betty’s fondest memories came during her time employment at the Capitol Theatre where she worked for many years dating back to the days of the majestic theatre’s glory days which afforded it an entrance on The Avenue . Those of us fortunate enough to have known Betty will also remember her for her kind-heartedness and willingness to help those in need in any way she could. Her care and compassion was a true inspiration. A Celebration of Betty’s Life will be held on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Memories in Wojcik’s Funeral Chapel, 2157 Portage Avenue at Sharp Boulevard. In lieu of flowers, we encourage you to show some kindness to someone in need or make a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. A mother holds her children’s hands for a little while…their hearts forever.   As published in the Winnipeg Free Press on April 28, 2012
