Douglas Norman Pedersen

Douglas Norman Pedersen, age 72, passed away peacefully on September the 9th, 2024 at the Seven Oaks Hospital.

Douglas was born on June 8th, 1952, in Sidney B.C. to his parents Henry and Myrtle Pedersen.

He loved the island, and would tell countless stories about living there. Doug was a devoted husband, a loving father, and an amazing friend. He enjoyed socializing, being outdoors, and
doing yard work, and cheering on his children in their various sports or other activities. In his spare time he started to volunteer with Manitoba Underdogs Rescue alongside his daughter. He would also volunteer at charity events for the Special Olympics.

Doug is survived by his wife Debbie, his daughter Shaleen (Micheal), and his son Richard (Melissa). He also is survived by his big brother, Glen Pedersen (Bonita), and his big sister,
Bernice Dyck (Norman). He will also be missed by his nephew’s, nieces, cousins, and all of his friends.

The family would like to extend a special Thank-you to the Seven Oaks Dialysis team for all of their love, care, and compassion over Doug’s journey with them.

Doug’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him, and loved him. We will miss you so much! We love you to the moon and back Dad/Doug!

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, October 6th, 2024 at the Elmwood Legion – 920 Nairn Ave between the hours of 12:00 pm-5:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a
donation be made to Doug’s favorite charity: Manitoba Underdogs Rescue.
