DONALD (DON) RALPH DEVRIES

1927-2020

On June 10, 2020 at the age of 93 our Dad and Papa passed away peacefully at Calvary Place Personal Care Home.

Don was predeceased by his wife Shirley. Remaining to cherish his memory are his son Bruce Devries (Marg); daughter Charlynn Booth (Jim); grandchildren Jennifer Miller (Scott), Laurie Taylor (Ryan), Julie Devries (Luke), Kyle Devries, Cody Booth (Sara), Emily Faure (Mark); great grandchildren Ty and Emily Miller, Jonathan and Liam Booth, and Lucy Faure.

Dad was born and raised in the Toronto area and joined the RCMP in 1949. He served in Manitoba, NWT and Ontario, retiring as a Staff Sargeant. After the RCMP he worked for the Canadian Government as a consultant setting up security at a diamond mine in East Africa. He then worked as a manager at BMO (Mastercard Security), and for Manitoba Lotteries. In 1987, he built and operated The Riding Mountain Inn. Papa enjoyed golf, camping and later the cottage at Clear Lake. He loved to attend all family celebrations.

There will be no service, and a private family interment will take place at a later date at the RCMP Cemetery, Regina, SK.
