DEBORAH NOREEN RUTH

(nee COVE)

It is with great sadness and heartbreak, we announce the passing of Deborah Ruth. Deb passed away peacefully with her family by her side at the Grace Hospital on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at the age of 62 years.

Left to survive Deb are her husband Barry; daughter Meghan; mother Margaret Cove; brother Brad Cove (Roxie) and children Katelyn Cove (Evan) and Hillary Cove (Kurtis); brothers-in-law James Ruth (Delores), Ian Ruth (Cindy) and sisters in-law Diane Keller (David), Shelly Dunning (Paul) and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father Stan Cove and brother-in-law Dale Ruth.

On November 20, 1955 Deb was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, but grew up with her parents (Margaret and Stan) and brother (Brad) in Morden Manitoba. She obtained her Bachelor of Commerce degree at the University of Manitoba in 1977 and became a chartered accountant in 1980. She was married in 1982 to her husband Barry and resided in Winnipeg. In November 1988 they adopted their daughter Meghan.

Deb worked for several accounting firms and spent the last number of years at BDO Canada. Even though she enjoyed her work and loved her clients she made the decision to retire in May 2017.

Deb was a quiet, calm soul who enjoyed the simple things like watching sports and trying new recipes and creating beautiful needlework. In the summer she enjoyed spending time with her family relaxing on the deck and reading.

On Thursday, May 17, 2018 Deb’s Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. in Kirkfield Park United Church at 472 Kirkfield Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba
