CLIFFORD (CLIFF) GRAHAM June 4, 1927 May 13, 2012 Peacefully on Sunday, May 13, 2012, Cliff passed away at the Grace Hospital at the age of 84 years. Left to forever cherish Cliff’s memory are his sons Milton (Karen) of Winnipeg, and Jack (Marion) of Chicago, Illinois; grandson Matthew; step-grandchildren Kirk, Jared, Kate and Joe; sister Martha Brown (Vanderhoof, B.C.); as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Christine; Milton’s mother Mildred; parents Josiah and Martha; brothers Hilbert, Howard, William, Nelson, Josiah, Matthew, Thomas and Robert; and sisters Elizabeth and Ethel. On the family farm, near Swan River, Dad was born and raised. At the young age of 16, he decided to join the Navy, where he served as a gunner in the Merchant Navy until his discharge in 1945. Dad then embarked on many adventures, including fur trapping, working in various mines, owning restaurants, and working for CN. He then left Canada in 1960 and started working in the US, eventually settling in Chicago. He returned to Canada in 2005. Dad loved going for daily walks with our dog Keela, always making friends along the way. He had a great work ethic, always eager to help with any chores or tasks, even later on in life. He particularly enjoyed playing crib, which became our family ritual after dinner. Dad will be missed by his crib partner, Theo. He was a sports guy; he loved watching baseball, curling, hockey and boxing. Dad was quick-witted with a unique sense of humour that we all enjoyed. In compliance with Cliff s wishes, there will not be a formal Funeral Service. A private family Service will take place at a later time. The family would like to express our heartfelt thank you to the staff at Grace Hospital (Val and Angie), who did their best to keep Dad comfortable those last few days. We’d also like to thank Homecare, especially Rose, whom Dad was particularly fond of.
