CLARA ROSE STEFFES

(NEE STRECKER)

After more than 100 years of working hard and walking proudly, Clara Rose Steffes passed away on February 20, 2021 at 2:30 p.m. She was born October 16, 1920.

Clara is survived by her daughter, Clara Mae Howard, son, Anthony Steffes (David Viggars), daughter-in-law, Audrey Hogue, brother, Clarence Strecker (Elizabeth), five grandchildren, Tony Hrynyk (Lisa), Brian Hrynyk (Gerry), Clarice Woloshyn (Jeff), Randy Steffes (Jill), Trevor Steffes (Elaine), six great grandchildren, Samantha Giesbrecht (Jessie), Kara Grant (Michael), Mark Woloshyn, Christopher Steffes, Michael Steffes, and five great-great grandchildren, Pearce, Jackson, and Benjamin Giesbrecht, and Luca and Lilah Grant. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph John Steffes, and two of her children, Ronald and Clifford Steffes.

Mom demonstrated her love by supporting her family through hard work and employment as a cook, cleaner, and florist. The house was spotless, the food excellent, and her endurance during hard times remarkable. Mom was a beautiful woman who carried herself with dignity and style. She set a high standard for herself. We could always be proud of mom and much could be learned by watching her problem-solving approach to life. She leaves us wisdom, strength, and many humorous moments.

Clara will eventually rest in St. Mary Roman Catholic Cemetery alongside her husband John, and predeceased sons. No public service is planned at this time.

Gratitude is extended to all the workers at Donwood Manor EPH, Home Care, and the staff of the fifth floor of Seven Oaks Hospital.
