CATHERINE CORCORAN

September 13, 1943 – October 5, 2018

With broken hearts we announce the passing of our beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother. After a 13 month battle with cancer our adored family matriarch passed gently from our world.

Left to adore and remember her always are her husband Peter; her children, Peter (Josie), Paula (CJ) and Christina (Jeff). Her legacy is her grandchildren, Peter (Haley), Andrew (Shaina), Brittany, Keaston (Taylor), Jessica, Kieran and Declan; stepgrandchildren, Jeremie and Derik; her great-grandchildren, Jaxon and Rosalea; Mum to her grandchildren, Jeanette; sister-in-law Margaret; and many cousins, nieces and nephews in the Liverpool. Joining her family in sorrow is a very special group of best friends, “the girls”, Diane, Mugs, Betty and Sherraine and special work friend Mary Beth.

Cathy and family immigrated to Canada in 1980 for a new adventure and to give her children different opportunities. Though settled in Canada she always had her feet planted in both countries, never losing sight of the fact she was Liverpudlian. Cathy’s tenacity and work ethic saw her have different career paths throughout her life, but in her 40s, chose to educate herself at both the College and University level to further her knowledge in chosen field of social services. Finding her purpose and loving her career she retired at the age of 73 as a Clinical Resource at an adolescent psychiatric facility. Through her work at Manitoba Adolescent Treatment Centre, Cathy touched many lives of the clients, but also passed along her vast knowledge of the industry through mentoring co-workers.

For all her achievements, her family were most fortunate that her greatest talent was being a Mother. Each of her children enjoyed their own special bond with her and each are left with a hole in their lives that no other person can ever fill.

Thank you to Dr. Daeninck and Dr. Green, Monsignor Comeault and the parishioners of Our Lady Perpetual Help.

In gratitude we would ask that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to CancerCare Manitoba. Good night, God bless Mum xoxo.

Mass of Resurrection will be held on October 11, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady Perpetual Help Roman Catholic Church, private family interment to commence after.
