BEVERLEY ANN REIMER

November 16, 1940 – August 30, 2018

After a lengthy illness, Beverley passed peacefully at home at the age of 77 years.

Left to survive Bev are her son Gary (Sharon); daughter Cheryl; grandchildren Steven, Melanie, Mathew and brother Lorne (Inga).

On November 16, 1940 Bev was born in Mastatim, SK to Jean and Fred Vosper. At an early age her mother Jean contracted tuberculosis, and the family moved to Winnipeg where she was treated. When her mother died, Bev and Lorne were then adopted by their maternal grandparents Dave and Birkie MacVicar. She continued her life as Beverley Ann MacVicar.  Bev’s first job was at the family store, MacVicar’s Food Market on Ness Avenue. From there she went on to Dominion Stores for many years. After Dominion she moved on to Codville now called Sobey’s.  Bev was in food retail and advertising. One of several jobs was to ensure all the flyers had the correct pricing before they were to be printed. She remained with Sobey’s until her retirement.

Bev loved doing crafts and spent many hours doing all sorts. She would even go to crafts sales with her crafts and buy more than she sold, this made her happy. Bev also loved garage sales. She would get the paper and draw out a map on how they would hit as many garage sales as possible. Blue Mountain Pottery was her passion, she had several hundred pieces. Bev Loved Christmas, especially all the ornaments that made noise (sang). My mistake was introducing Mom to Slurpees, she quickly worked her way up to the large mugs and would drink one even two a day. Mom had a unique sense of humour; a man had just walked out of a washroom, she grabbed his arm and asked if he washed his hands, he said yes, she then said he could buy her a drink. That is how she met her second husband. This is a true story.  She will be missed.

As per Beverley’s wishes there will be no service.

We wish to thank the Concordia Hospital Staff third floor and palliative care for making Bev’s last wish possible.

For those who wish, donations may be made in Bev’s memory to WRHA Palliative Care Program 204-237-2400.
