ALOIS DONNER
November 4, 1937 – September 1, 2026
Alois Donner passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 1, 2026 at the Health Sciences Centre.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Elsa (2014), and his parents, Joseph and Helena. He is survived by his brother Meinhard and sister Kristel; his sons Robert (Vivian) and Daniel (Teresa); and grandsons Jake, Derek, and Alan.
After convincing his parents the family should immigrate to Canada in 1953, the family settled in Winnipeg, where he met and married Elsa in 1960. In 1967 he established Donner Construction Ltd., which he operated for many years alongside farming in the RM of Ritchot. An avid outdoorsman, Al enjoyed fishing, hunting, and raising German Shepherds.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, October 5, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Vital Roman Catholic Church, 1629 Pembina Highway.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
