ALEX DAN MACLEOD
ALEX DAN MACLEOD, Aug 22 1946-July 29 2026. Our father passed away peacefully at Grace Hospice in Winnipeg after a long battle with cancer. He is now reunited with our Mother Rose Mary MacLeod (nee Hill) who passed April 20,2024 they were married almost 57 years.
Alex always enjoyed sitting around and telling war stories, He never let the facts get in the way of a good story. Born and raised on Cape Breton Island, he always had that down-home welcome attitude. Dad, along with Mom, were always willing to help anyone out. Always met you with a laugh, and a joke, and an open home.
Dad served over 32 years in the Canadian Armed Forces from 1964 to 1996. He joined the Canadian Guards and once the Regiment was disbanded he re badged to the Royal Canadian Regiment and finally retired as part of the Canadian Forces Postal Service. As anyone that knew him will tell you, he enjoyed his military career and the tonnes of stories that came out of it….Oh the stories.
Alex is predeceased by his wife Rose, His father Chester, Mother Florence, and his sisters Dorothy (Clyde), Florence (Sy) and Lucy (Norman).. He is survived by his children, Dan, Leeandra (Lee) and Tyler (Cindy) and his best friend Ruby, as well as many Nieces and Nephews.
We would like to thank Joy and Luna and all the angels from Prime Medical that cared for Him like Family, the staff at Kiwanis Care and the Grace Hospice for the care given to our Father.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Humane Society, Cancer Research or Dementia research
A Celebration of life will be arranged by the Family.
