William “Bill” Maksymchuk

William “Bill” Maksymchuk, aged 74, of Winnipeg, Manitoba, passed away suddenly on October 15, 2025. Bill was born on May 8, 1951, in Rorketon, Manitoba, to William and Mary Maksymchuk.

He made his home in Dauphin, where he built a long and dedicated career with MTS. After his retirement, Bill continued to stay active in the community by working at the Co-op gas station, where he enjoyed connecting with familiar faces and meeting new people. Bill was known for his strong work ethic and the friendships he formed throughout his professional life.

Bill shared many wonderful years with his wife, Patricia (née Zuk), and together they raised two daughters, April and Susan. He was a proud and devoted grandfather to his grandchildren, all of whom brought him great joy.

Outside of work, Bill loved being out in the country, spending time on projects, hunting, fixing things, and socializing with others. He was an active member of the community and proudly volunteered as a firefighter for many years.

Bill will be remembered as a social and generous man who loved connecting with others. He was always ready to lend a helping hand, share a laugh, or tell a story — especially about his years at work or his adventures growing up. Bill enjoyed the outdoors, whether he was out exploring, hunting in his younger years, or spending quiet moments fishing.

He had a passion for working with his hands and could often be found fixing cars, tinkering with mechanical projects, or collecting interesting things to work on in his spare time. He also loved to cook and entertain, welcoming friends and family into his home with warmth and good food. Those who knew Bill will forever remember his easy-going nature, his kindness, and his ability to make everyone feel at home.

Bill was predeceased by his parents, William and Mary Maksymchuk, as well as his brother, Clifford. He leaves to mourn his wife, Pat; daughters, April (Jason) and Susan (Mike); and grandchildren, Auriana, Ella, Erika, Sadie, Bowie and his brother Leonard.

A private family gathering will be held in the near future.

He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
