Norma Lesley Roath

On Saturday, November 22nd, Norma Lesley Roath, passed peacefully from this world into the next.

With her family close by her side, and as the warm golden sun wrapped her in the most beautiful heavenly light, she reunited with her husband “Martin”; who
gently took her hand, and guided her “home”.

Known as Lesley (and that’s Lesley spelt with a “Y”), was a free spirited lady and was pre-deceased by her loving husband “Martin” (Marty) of almost 50 years.
Lesley was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother, and a special friend to so many.
Lesley leaves behind her three children Tracey (Norm), Cheryl (Marco) and Jason, who will ensure her loving legacy lives on. As well, her three grandchildren,
Justin, Blade and Sydney will ensure all of their fond memories will live on in their hearts, and future generations.

While we all had different relationships with this amazing woman, they were all unique and very special to all of us. Those who were lucky enough to have
Lesley in their lives – knew what a loving and strong person she was.

As her children and grandchildren, we knew how lucky we were to have such a loving and strong Mother and Grandmother. We know we could call upon
“Mum” or “Nanny” at any time, and she would always be there for us. We were also honored to be there for this brave lady as she needed strength and support.

Lesley was a very social lady, and made friends wherever she was. It didn’t matter what country she lived in, she always found a way to settle and make a home.

Born in England, Lesley followed her husband’s journey, and lived in Wales, Singapore, many more years in England, and then finally planting roots in Canada.
Wherever Lesley landed, she was always her own independent lady, and made sure her family always came first.

Lesley always liked to be part of the community, and gave 40 plus years to the Girl Guides – both in England and in Canada. Lesley also enjoyed playing darts, and
looked forward to joining her friends every Tuesday night at the Army & Navy Legion. She was a fantastic dart’s player, and I know her team mates will miss her very much!

Lesley had many lifelong friends – – – friends for well over 40 years, who she still stayed in touch with, had lunch and coffee with, and made sure they knew she was always there for them.

As well, all of her beautiful friends who lived in the same apartment block with her – – – basically her second family, were so very special to her. They looked after each other and talked to each other every day. Lesley had so much
fun with her friends of Sinawik Bay! Whether it was the fun card game evenings, the Bridge lessons, the Shuffle Board competitions, or the many field trips they went on together – there was always so much fun and laughter.

To all of her friends, wherever you may be, it was such an honor to know our Mum was loved by so many, and please know that Lesley loved, valued and respected you all so very much!

There will be a huge physical void for all of us to deal with, but we know over time our hearts will heal a little, and we know we will be able to smile and laugh again – especially when sharing all of our favorite memories.

Mum – We love you and thank you for always being there for us, and for always believing in us. We will see you again, but for now give a huge hug to Dad, Phantom, and everyone else.

We know you are safe, loved, and happy in the most special place ever.
