Mason James Robson Honeyborne

Peacefully, after a courageous battle with PPMS, it is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our son Mason Honeyborne at the age of 47, on Feb.13/ 2025 at the Grace Hospital, Winnipeg, Manitoba. Mason is survived by his parents Elizabeth and Reg Honeyborne, his brothers Symon (Vanessa) and Jacob, niece Madison, nephews Brandon and Andy.

Mason had fond childhood memories of summer time at the family cottage in Matlock MB swimming and playing on the beach with his brothers. He also loved to go fishing. He was a skilled self taught guitar player, creating his own music and a very skilled silversmith. He loved to read intense books on spirituality and religion. He obtained a B.A. at the University of Manitoba with a major in world traditions and also studied Sanskrit and eastern philosophy. He eventually decided on a career in sound engineering and obtained his training at Mid Ocean recording studio. He went on to work on various documentaries and movies before he had to end his career to deal with eight years of living with PPMS of which he never complained about.

He lived the last few years at Deer Lodge Centre, 5th floor chronic care, and we would like to thank the staff for their excellent care. Mason was with great joy baptised (Church of Christ) at Deer Lodge thanks to the help of Paul and Margaret B. and some other friends.

Cremation has taken place and a private family get-together and interment will take place at a later date.

If you wish In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to deerlodgecentrefoundation.com and would be greatly appreciated.
