I met Lorraine as a young teacher. I appreciated the support she gave to me many years ago when I was both a young teacher and a parent of a special needs toddler. I remember her fondly as a wise and kind lady with a big heart for teaching!

I first knew Lorraine as a colleague at Dalhousie Elementary School. This led to a longtime friendship. Lorraine faced many life challenges with courage and determination. She taught me it was possible to lead a full life even as chronic illness forced her to give up physical activities she loved, her career, and beloved summers at the Betula Lake cottage her dad had built. Lorraine was the heart and soul of our small Spirituality Book Group which met for over thirty years.. A loving and dedicated mom to Wayne, she taught by example and greatly appreciated all the help she received from her son. Lorraine was a blessing in my life and in the lives of many. She will be sorely missed. Maybe Lorraine is writing poetry, playing crib and walking Airedale’s in Heaven?

It was a pleasure to look after Lorraine when she came down to our floor. She was the start of my day to going to say good morning before shift and bring her her morning coffee to start her day. We would chat a bit on how her night was and how everything with me was. She cared deeply about everyone in a very special way. She loved spending time visiting Noreen and Wayne. I am going to miss her dearly but I will never forget her. She has touched my life forever. My deepest condolences to Wayne and everyone else.
