EMILY MADELINE BARNETT The family celebrated Emily’s life Friday, June 1, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the family home in the Pool House.Publish Date: Jun 2, 2012EMILY MADELINE BARNETT January 14, 1911 – May 27, 2012 It is with deepest sadness that we announce the passing of our Mother and Grandmother. Granny Emily went to be with the Lord on May 27, 2012 while at the Grace Hospital after a short illness. Left to cherish Emily’s memory are her daughter Maureen (Stan) Combe; grandchildren, Don (Bev) Combe, Stan Tanny Combe, Deborah (Garth) Crawford, Tracey (Ken) Baldwin, and special family friend Guy Delisle; great-grandchildren Jeff (Donna) Combe, Jason (Sabrina) Combe, Joey (Kate) Baldwin, Soleil (Jerry) Huizinga-Shepherd, Anne-Maureen (Bryan) Huizinga, Amanda Baldwin; great-great-grandchildren, Jesse Huizinga, Tristan Shepherd, Jerry Shepherd, Baillie Shepherd, Phoenix Combe, Gavin Combe, Bryant Combe, Lucas Combe, Dylan Baldwin. She was Granny as well to Ryley and Kensey Crawford. She was predeceased by her granddaughter April Huizinga. Granny was born January 14, 1911 in Winnipeg to Joseph and Sarah Barnett. Her life was her family and Granny moved in with Maureen and Stan when they had her grandchildren and was the matriarch of the family for 50 years. She tirelessly watched her grandkids, making sure every need was met. It was Granny who waited up all night making sure everyone was was home safely – Always Giving, Never Asking. Emily’s legacy is in being Granny as she was known to all, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered – she touched many lives and everyone loved her in an instant. She was a bit parent, a bit teacher and a bit best friend to a host of her grandchildren’s many, many friends. She truly had silver in her hair and gold in her heart. The family will be celebrating Emily’s life this Friday, June 1, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the family home in the Pool House. Call the family for the address. Quick with a laugh and always a smile When it came to love – you went the extra mile Granny had a love for all Kids and everyone’s Pet Yet she was feisty, we would call her – Dukes Barnett You were always the strength of the family. Now we must let you rest calmly. As we say our good-bye’s as tears roll down our eyes. I know your place in heaven has a good view. Because you have told God, you need to keep an eye on a few. Your life gave many, joy – from the start to the end We all loved you as Granny and friend I know you will always be in our hearts and mind.
